Dynamo Tour from Dunkirk to Bray-Dunes



The memorial of allies is situated to the west of the dam of Dunkerque. it was achieved in 1962 by the architect Laprade and the Ringot sculptor with pavements of the harbor that soldiers trampled down before arriving on the beach. it recalls the courage of these soldiers that permitted the re-embarkation of troops toward the england.

To the cemetery of Dunkerque is the WAR MEMORIAL dedicated to soldiers of the body expeditionary deceased britanique in 1940, inaugurated in 1957 by SM the Queen Mother of England.

Dunkirk by Christopher Nolan

In may/june 2016, Christopher Nolan produce "Dunkirk", a film on the battle of Dunkirk. A reconstruction of the pier in 1940 and the adaptation of a ship are required to be in context of the time.











Until July 31, 2018 (except January 1 to 26, 2018), next to the FRAC near the Dunkerque Museum 1940, exhibition of photographs of the city of Dunkerque in the middle of sets of the film Dunkirk / Dunkerque directed by C Nolan. From Wednesday to Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm, week-end from 11 am to 7 pm.






ZUYDCOOTE

Between the sanatorium (on the left) and Zuydcoote (on the right), blockauses are vestiges of the Dynamo operation mediatized by Robert Merle in its book and movie " weekend to Zudcoote ".
Summer 2003, the BBC turned on Dunkerque ( on this same beach ) a movie on the operation Dynamo with the involvement of the museum for the loan of material.

In the evening of May 28, 1940, the SS murdered many dozens of british prisoners having encouraged the evacuation of troops allied in Dunkirk.
